Snow Ice Cream - II

We got some of the white stuff yesterday and all last night.  And I ain't talkin' crack, either!  We ended up with about 8" worth of snow.  But, the blowing and drifting has left some mounds that are much deeper.

I always look forward to the first really good snowfall of the year.  It's become a tradition to make snow ice cream on that day.  Today happenend to be that day.

I've always made my grandmother's recipe, but wanted to try something different this year.  I know my sister uses sweetened condensed milk.  Since I couldn't get a hold of her to get her recipe - I did an online search and combined the best and simplest ways I saw.  This is what I came up with.

Get a big bowl of fresh, clean snow.

You'll need these, too.

Put 8 cups of snow into another bowl.

Pour on 1 can of sweetened condensed milk and 2 tsp. of vanilla extract.

Stir it all together, adding more snow until you get it to the desired consistency.

Enjoy! (Somehow, I've managed to lose the picture of the finished ice cream.)  It's really yummy, though.

  1. If we ever get snow this year (keeps missing us) I am going to make this!
In fact I am going to put a bowl out on the stoop so that it will fill up and I can make it!
